105d District Governor - Lion Roger Huntley

Greetings my Fellow Lions,

I am extremely grateful to you all for the confidence that you have shown by giving me the opportunity to serve as your District Governor for 2008-2009. It is indeed a great honour and a privilege.

I like to think of District 105-D as a forward thinking District that takes the lead on many occasions.  It is not only an honour and a privilege, but leading our district comes with a huge responsibility, of which I am very aware and will do my very best to uphold.  However, I cannot do this alone and I thank all of those who have put themselves forward to serve on the District Cabinet, and also those at Club level who we rely on so much.

I am fortunate to have the full support of my wife Lion Ann, who like me is fully committed and believes most strongly in our motto “WE SERVE”. Together we will do our very best to serve not only those less fortunate than ourselves, but also you the Lions in this great District of 105-D

Our main aim within the organisation of Lions is to serve, which is something that is very close to the heart of our International President Lion Albert F Brandel, his chosen motto being “Miracles Through Service”. With a strong bond of friendship, working together and helping one another we will be able to achieve miracles both large and small.
Remember that there is always a Lion serving at District, in a specialist capacity, willing to offer expert help
or advice, so please make use of them to help you create your Miracles.

My theme for the year is “Service with Fun and Fellowship” as I feel very strongly that as volunteers, we must have fun and enjoy what we do. By serving together with our fellow Lions, both at home and throughout the wider world, we can make such a difference for the many in need. So my Fellow Lions, we hope that you enjoy the year ahead and assure you that Lion Ann and I will do our very best to serve and represent this District of 105-D proudly.

You are all wonderful people and we hope that you have a great year with lots of success, fun and happiness.

Roger Huntley
