Lion Ken Riley MJF
Lions Club of Ringwood and Fordingbridge

It is with considerable sadness that the Ringwood & Fordingbridge Lions Club report the passing of Lion PCC Ken Riley on 24th January 2018, aged 97 years.

Ken was a Charter Member of the Bournemouth Club and served as President in 1963/4. He was elected as 105D District Governor 1970/71 and subsequently appointed Chairman of Council 1971/72. He resigned from Lions in 1975 due to health and business problems but rejoined the Wadebridge (105SW) Club in 2008 where he was awarded an MJF.

On relocating to Hampshire in 2015 he transferred to the Ringwood & Fordingbridge Club.

Ken was an outstanding Lion and a Gentleman in every sense of the word and his presence will be sorely missed.

Funeral arrangements The Funeral will take place on 13th February 2018 at 1:30 pm at The Church of Holy Ascension, Church Lane, Hyde, Fordingbridge SP6 2QJ and be in the form of a service of thanksgiving in celebration of Ken’s life.

Refreshments will be served in the Church Hall following the Service.

Members of the Ringwood & Fordingbridge Lions Club extend their sincere condolences to the surviving family and friends.

16th April 2017

Lion Allison Turner MJF
Lions Club of Cosham

It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing to Higher Service of Lion Allison Turner MJF.

Lion Allison died on April 16th 2017 after a year of poor and often painful health.

Lion Allison had always supported her husband, John since he became a Lion in the early 90’s but in 2008 she decided to become a Lion herself, serving both as President and Treasurer.

The saying goes ‘if you want a job doing then ask a busy person’; Lion Allison was that person! As well as being a committed Lion, Allison was President and Treasurer of the local Conservative Club, Treasurer on her Church council, and volunteered at a local Infants School and the City Museum.

Although not well, she knew that her husband John was to be presented with a MJF at our recent 50th Charter Evening..... she was determined to be there.... What she did not know was that the members of Cosham Lions were on that evening to bestow that same honour on her. That is the picture we in Cosham Lions will hold dear.

Rest in Peace

Funeral arrangements A Church service celebrating Allison’s life will be at 11:00am on Monday 15th of May at:
The Church of the Resurrection
Penrhyn Avenue

Portsmouth PO6 2AP

This is to be followed by cremation at Midday at:

John has requested that that we all wear something yellow (scarf/tie etc).

Could I ask that you let me know if you will be attending the wake so that I can coordinate numbers for catering?
